Counting down from Week 37...

It is only 18 days away to the BIG Day! =)

I have been feeling up and down, anxious and scared and exhilarated at the same time.

Well, Little one now weights 3.136kg and Dr Tan says he is doing well. Everything is going smoothly for us both and she told me not to worry.

Her advice of the week: Just enjoy these last 2.5 weeks......;)

36 weeks and counting down....

I am well into my 36 weeks of pregnancy now. How time flies. =)

4 more weeks (hopefully little one listens to mommy and daddy to stay in my tummy till full 40 weeks) and we are all able to see him. I wonder how he looks like, who he takes after, all I know from the 5th month detailed scan - he had daddy's bee stung lips.

Little one now weighs 2.9kg and Dr Tan says that he is doing well. His head is positioned downwards towards the pelvic area but not in the engaged position of course. My check up is going to be on a weekly basis starting from next week. And at the last week, it will be a daily affair till the big day.

Well, watch out for this space and I'll try to keep everyone posted till that big day arrives!

Mummy and all the Pretty Aunties!

Mummy and all the pretty aunties from Vietnamese Class. =)

We also came to know that Aunty Amy is 3 months pregnant too! Now Axios kor kor will be having a playmate soon, other than me.

Mommy met all the aunties for a farewell dinner for Aunty Hui Ting as she will be leaving Singapore for Melbourne to futher her studies in psychology. We all wish her the very best and good luck! Aunty Hui Ting told mommy to bring me to come and visit her when I am bigger. Can't wait! =)

Glow! Glow! Glow!

Just last weekend, I went for my Bloom Maternity shots at The Studio Loft. The pictures will be ready in 3-5 weeks time and hopefully way before I am due. =p

p.s I am in my 35 weeks of preggy bloom now.

Didnt want to just wash away the make up and hence, requested C to help me capture a few moments in the setting of our home. =)

Just me feeling vain... (heee...)

Oh my god! Elephantus Legs!

No points for guessing! These are my fat, swollen, "water-retention" feet. =(

So far with the placement of them, elevated on high pillows when I'm sitting on the couch or when I'm asleep, the feet do decrease in size.

WATER - that is the best solution to be honest. It helps to reduce or at least drain out the salt content in my body. Well, it is just another 5 more weeks to go to that BIG DAY! =)

Mummy's First Bollywood Wedding!

Mummy went to Uncle Muthu and Aunty Shanthani's wedding last Friday. It was her first time attending an Indian wedding. Well, mummy was supposed to go for the temple wedding but as it was a weekday function, she was not able to make it.

The whole wedding atmosphere was fabulous! It was smore like a dinner and dance affairs -pontaneous, candid and made you feel so bollywood about the whole event! Of course, there was party music, loads of dancing, the MC was Hilarious! He was Uncle Jasper, mummy's CJC student councillor mate. Sometimes, it's just amazing that friends mummy knew since 1995 continued to keep in contact with her and invited her for the wedding. And I was in mummy's tummy grooving to the beat of the bollywood music!! Hoo Haa!

Uncle Muthu and Aunthy Shanthani looked gorgeous in both their western suits/ gowns and traditional Indian suits as well. The dance floor was open to all starting from 11pm but mummy didn't stay on till then as fatigue was eating her up by then and of course, sleepy me. =)
Before we left, we gave Uncle Muthu and Aunty Shanthani a big hug and Uncle Muth even held on to mummy's tummy (holding me of course in a way) and said a little prayer for us both.

Thank you Uncle Muthu and Aunty Shanthani! Mummy and I had a great time on your special day!

We had a Boi-lly Good Time!

Yesterday was the second session of the pre-natal class by ParentCraft and C & I enjoyed the sessions so far with Mrs Wong Boi Boi. Mrs Wong is senior ParentCraft/Lactation Consultant and Head of ParentCraft Centre.

p.s - if you click to the above link, an image pops up and the lady in short hair is Mrs Wong Boi Boi herself.)

Being a fun-loving and hilarious lady herself, Mrs Wong made the 2 hours lessons seemed like a breeze and making sure we always remember the tips and tricks that she taught us in the previous session.

So far, we have learnt basic pre-natal exercises and she debunked some myths on pregancy dos and don'ts. We also touched on the topic of childbirth, the whole process and learnt relaxation and breathing techniques.

Well, both of us have been looking forward to Mrs Wong's class every saturday cos we are always granted a Boi-lly good time with her!

From Little One to Dr Tan

Dear Dr Tan,

It was great seeing you again last Saturday but personally, I hope both Mummy and I could spend more time with you on our visit. You had another emergency operation to do again this time and yeap (no prize for guessing), the whole meet up lasted only 10 solid minutes.

Mummy's weight gain is in control (by the way mummy's weight is currently at 53.3kg and she had put on almost 8kg so far =p) and I am once again slightly off track for my current weight gain. I am now 28 weeks old or theorectically, 7 months old. My ideal weight should be 2.5 lbs but I weighed 2.75lbs. You told mummy and daddy that there was nothing to worry about with regards to my weight. Whew! (Cos my daddy is worried sick that I will be too big for my mummy to push me out when it is time).

I am glad that you told mummy that she did not require to take any glucose test cos I heard from mummy's friend that she had to fast for 8 hours prior to the test. I am just concern that mummy's reserves are not enough to keep me full and happy. (Thank Goodness!)

Well, I hope to see you in one month's time and hopefully, this time round, the time with you will be much longer. Take care, Dr Tan and thank you for making sure mummy and I are both fine. =)

Everybody loves Kungfu Fighting! Hoo! Haa!

KUNGFU! That's Little Moo's favourite activity in my tummy! =)

His jabs, pokes and kicks were as fast as lightning and give me funny moments and twitches now and then! He rolls, somersaults (I think cos that was what the book wrote that the baby can do 1001 things in that constrained area in the tummy), jabs and wiggles.

Sometimes I love the surprises that he gives me by the sudden jerks that I experienced and but at times, it seems that he is squashing some parts of my tummy or some internal organs -Yikes! That was just my imagination but that was exactly how I felt when the jabs were not so pleasing.

Little Moo's kungfu times have a schedule:
  • Morning from 7-10am
  • Noon time
  • Evening from 5pm onwards
  • After 10pm

Well, if you do look carefully at his schedule, it coincides with feeding time. Heee, that is when breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper is being served. But C told me it was mommy who was hungry, not Moo! I told him this is called co-existence. Little Moo is currently 6 months old in my tummy now and this kungfu fighting will begin to occur more frequently.

Now I can really understand why some of my friends who have become mothers told me that they loved this stage of the pregnancy best as they get to feel the baby inside and well, I do have to agree that this feeling can be classified as "Time of My Life"!

Waiting for the G Spot...

Do not mistaken, my friends! I am not talking about the elusive G Spot that most ladies would die for to hit that zone! The G stands for my dear Gynaecologist, Dr Tan.

Last Saturday, it was my long awaited check up (the reason being I waited for nearly one month to see my little one and wonder how he had been in there). The appointment was at 10am but we only manage to see her at 1230pm and well, for a period of 10 mins and we were out of the consultation room again! So much for the wait!

Well well, just to give an update of my current progress. My weight is fully under control (super happy about it) and I just have to make sure I do not overfeed myself. Little one weighed 720g (he is actually 120g heavier than his "right weight" for 24 weeks), measuring at least a foot now from head to toe. His taste buds are getting active now and whatever I chew, swallow, he will get a fair share of it.

Most happening thing of all - he is a great kicker! Little one tends to kick more on my top right corner of my tummy in the day and bottom left corner of my tummy at night. He is most active ard 10am, 4-6ish pm and after 10pm.

Soon, we are able to see his pokes and jabs through my tummy skin. C called that "alien resurrection - SG version" - (he thinks it kind of weird!).

So keep a lookout and I will post updates as frequent as possible! =)

Om....Namaste

I went to my first pre-natal yoga class on Sat at The Mother & Child Centre at Tanglin Mall. It has been a while since I last did yoga, guess almost a year! The overall experience was enjoyable.

The exercises sequence is similar to ashtanga yoga and thank god I had some basic foundation in it. The only difference was I was not as flexible as before and of course, with little one in my tummy, the so called reachable places were almost unattainable for me! =)

Well well, I look forward to the next lesson and hopefully, able to improve my stretches and poses.

Mommy went shopping again!

And these are the stuff that she bought and no prize for guessing - all for me! =)

Terimah Kasih Abang Aidyn!

Terimah Kasih - which means "Thank You" in Malay, is a message I like mommy to pass to Aidyn. Aidyn is Aunty Helena's 7 mth old son and Aunty Helena is mommy's wok colleague and friend.

As Aidyn is older than me, I have to call him Abang - which means elder brother. Abang Aidyn gave me a baby carrier for mommy to place me in it and go places with. It comes in bright red colour and I am sure I am going to be an attention grabber in it! =)

So Thank You Abang Aidyn and I'll make sure mommy brings me out in that carrier so that I can show you how cool you made me look!

Vroom! Vroom! Vroom!

Super compact, super light weight, equipped with front swivel wheel stroller with locks, multi position, 170 degrees flat for me to lie and snooze. One hand easy folding and a large shopping basket for mommy and daddy! It also comes in my favourite colour - Blue!

Well well, what's more can I ask for.

My very own First Ferrari! Check it out! =)

p.s - Daddy was the first to play with it though, He kept twirling it round and round, testing its brakes and making sure "its engine" is in good condition. Mommy told him to stop the action as she has this strong hunch that my ferrari will break down even before my arrival. To my daddy - I know you are envious of my ferrari but play along with me when I am born, alright? Don't do anything to test its vroom vroom anymore, please?

I must, I must, reduce my....

WEIGHT! At 20 weeks preggy, I am a whopping 50.7kg! (C almost fainted when he saw the weighing scales at Dr. Tan's clinic)

That's right, I have been putting on too much weight and to be honest, I have been putting on 1kg per week for the past 3 weeks. Hence, a total of 3kg in 3 weeks! The ideal weight gain should be 2kg per month.

C had been warning me not to consume so much food and told me the rate I was eating was horrendous! I will be raveneous and snap at people if I didn't get my food. (Trust me - a hungry preggy woman is an angry woman!)

So the take-away for today's gynae visit is if hungry, eat an apple or a pear or a plum. No shaoji shaorou fan, no sweet stuff, cut down on carbo-laden food.

Dr Tan told me the next time she sees me in one month's time, I can only put on 1kg. That's right, 1kg to be put on in 4 weeks and no longer 1kg per weel. =)

Well, this is a challenge for this mummy to be and I guess I have to go on a fruitty-juicy-healthy diet and aim for this 1kg till my next visit!

The Story of the Eiffel Tower- Part II

It's Official! It is the Eiffel Tower of Paris! We are expecting a baby boy! =)

The Winner of The Straits Times Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI is...

US, of course!

As part of their campaign to thank their readers' support for the past years, The Straits Times, Singapore's prime english newpapers is giving a Volkwagen Golf 1.4 TSI car. What we were suppose to do was to collect 7 sets of keys for 7 days and the venue for the big draw will be announced on the 8th day. Only original form with the 7 keys will be accepted.

Well, C and I went to Raffles Place Park just in time to drop in our lucky entry and waited to watch the entertainment that were put up and then at 6pm, the moment that most of us were waiting for. The Golf was teleported from the showroom by famous illusionist JC Sum and Ning babe to the site. Then the lucky winner was picked and it was ....

C: Dear Dear, wakey wakey.. time for me to bring you back to the room to sleep already...
Me: (with blurry eyes) Orr.....

How I wish we are the proud owners in The Straits Times Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI. Yah Yah only in my dreams....

p.s That was C's favourite car model. =)

Some pics to share...

It's all about ME!

I realise I have not showcase myself to the world since 4 months ago or 18 weeks to be exact.
So here you go, a fab snapshot of me showing the little bump with little one in it!

To C - the bump is huge but to the rest of the world - well, they are still trying to work out where exactly the bump is.

Another great concern of mine is my NOSE! Firstly, it didn't have that classic nose bridge to stand out from the rest of my galfrens and secondly, it was a button nose to start off with, the recent facial visit sort of conclude I will not get pimples due to my history of dry skin but my nose was the one who caught my facial lady's attention. She says:"Most likely, the shape will change and erm.. I guess it may swell."

I don't wana look like Fiona in Shrek! Well, Amy told me she look like that when she was preggy with Axios. Argh!!!!!! =p

Just take a look at it yourself to decide bah... =)

Wink! It's Mr Smiley!

And so the shopping spree went on for my Little One! Mummy just cant resist some of the cutey rompers that were on sale at Bossini at BHG Bishan! ;)

Anyway C told me by the time Little One arrived, I may have already bought clothes till 2 years old! (Crazy!)

p.s - this is for 18 -24 mths by the way.... so he is right about me

Is that the Eiffel Tower of Paris?

Finally after a month long of waiting, we were back at Dr W K Tan's clinic yesterday for my 4th mth check up! Little one is doing well, measuring 11.72mm (CRL) and weighing 187g!

Well, I had put on 1.7kg since May and C was kind of paranoid at the rate I was expanding horizontally and the way I glup food down. He once said that I can be some gourmet TV host for this period. Every food that appears on my plate looks yummy to me!

I was particularly looking forward to this check up as most probably we will know if Little One will be a baby boy or baby girl. Well, according to the scan, we saw what it looks like an Eiffel Tower ( If you picture how the Eiffel Tower looks like - a triangular shape tower with a ball-liked tip) between its legs! Dr Tan simple smiled and said; "Dear, I can say that it is a 90% a boy but let us all wait for the 5th month detailed scan to be 100% sure."

That is another three weeks away and I think we both can wait and will wait. So not that we are trying to keep everyone in suspense, the story of the Eiffel Tower will be continue....

Rompers for my Little One!

Just cant resist the 50% storewide at Fox and being the infamous shopaholic, I knew I just had to grab some good deals from Fox! Now I don't know if Little One is a baby boy or gal but well, I can grab some neutral colours to work on. =)

Let's start the runway!

Jim Henson's Muppets -Gonzo The Great and Fozzie Bear!

Mommy's Day Out

Went out with my twin gals today in advance of their birthday celebration and we had a great time together! We done pedi/mani and went on a gourmet lunch at Canele @ Shaw centre! Then we decided to pay a visit to the much buzz about ION Orchard but to see a remake of Vivo City!

(I said that because Vivo created much hoo haa when it first opened its doors to Sunny Singapore and all you can see were crowds and crowds of people! almost similar to ION when we were there).

Well some pics of our lunch indulgences! Enjoy!

My Mommy's The Best!

Indeed, my mommy is the best! =)
This cutesy baby top is my first and was given by Cousin Tiara and Tania.
When daddy saw it, the first question that came to his mind was: " How come it is Mommy and not Daddy is the best?"

C-try carrying little one for the full preggy journey (though I'm only15 weeks and not so big and heavy yet) and I gladly announced to the whole wide world - Daddy's the Best!

Thank you cousin Tiara and Tania. Mommy told me she used to bring you both to play and have Macdonald's and you told mommy that you will do the same to me. I am sooo looking forward to the outings!

Me, Milo and Amos

Here you go, my companions for my tea breaks that oscillates between 4-4ishpm every afternoon. Well, their names are Milo and Amos. They have been my faithful companions since week 8 of my preggy journey. =)

Shaoji Shaorou Fan- anyone?

Basically, it means roasted pork and roasted chicken rice!
One of Little Moo's and my favourite dish ( at the moment)! Heee!
Well, it used to be chee cheong fan... Heee!

Little Moo and Friends

I went to Harbourfront Mothercare to check out the baby items on sale and thought I pop by Vivocity for a walk. For sure, this is my no. 4 or 5 times at Vivo as this place is always jammed packed with people. Since today is a week day and my day off ( thinking that the crowd would be half of the weekend crowd) lets give a try but I was wrong, there are loads of people especially the younger generations hanging out and around at Vivo.

Walked past Marche and spotted their brand ambassadors - the moos moos. Sat on the bench for a while, munching away my famous amos cookies, enjoying the beautiful scene in front of me and at the same time talking to my little moo.

Another nice sunny day with my little moo and its friends....

Lucky Number 13

Monday 13 July marks the start of the offical 13 weeks of my pregnancy.

1313 - a solid good number to buy 4D? =)

Hopefully the symptoms of the first trimester fade away and honestly, I do not need any new ones in my 2nd Trimester and so forth. I heard there will be gum bleeding, water retention, and constipation which had always been my companion in life (yucks!)

Well well, hope the start of the 2nd trimester will go well and Little Moo will grow strong and healthy!

A Dear Letter for Aunty Ellen

Dearest Aunty Ellen - Thank you for the lovely pressies you got for me and mummy! My very first pressies! I love the name you gave me - Little Moo!

Mummy instructed daddy to start reading to me soon and place batteries in the book for me to see the cowface lit up! =)

I told mummy to take my picture when I am born and place in the frame you gave as well.
Your book gave mummy and daddy some ideas on how to decorate my room though I am not sure if I am a boy or girl but the horoscope's colours gave them an idea for a headstart.

Mummy tells me a lot about you and I know you were colleagues at work and close like sisters. I hope the next time you meet mummy, I am literally around to feel you and embrace you.

Thank You and I hope to see you soon!
XOXO, Little Moo

The OSCAR!

Dun be mistaken.. this is not the annual red carpet event that takes place every year in Hollywood. Instead it was the so caled first trimester screening that all preggy mums to be had to take. But well, it is optional and not really a must have to take. Just that being a first time mum, you tend to be superly overlly cautious and anxious and whatever the gynae recommends, you just say yes yes and yes.

The OSCAR is a scan that takes place between 11 and 14 weeks of pregnancy, to assess the risk of their baby having Down's syndrome.

This is what happens during an OSCAR Scan
1) sonographers takes an ultrascound of the baby and tries to measure the length and thickness of the neck area (baby had to be in that ONE unique position for the sonographer to take this measurement)
p.s - little one was asleep and had to be woken up by the sonographer continuous rub over one area of my tummy
2) blood samples from the mum to be will be taken for laboratory tests

The above two steps more or less conclude the OSCAR.

My results will only be ready next week and hopefully all will be fine. =)

I shall post the images when they were sent to me. In the meantime, both of us get to find out that Little One now measures 7.25cm and Dr Tan mentions it is may be a big baby. Haa we'll see, both C and me are nor that big size to start off with and hence, we feel it is just the beginning.

One thing that came out good of this visit - I am officially cleared and completed my first trimester! Moving on to the next one which most documented were the best out of the 3 terms. I am spotting a small tummy now and me being petite, the bulge is a but hard to hide now....

Bizzare Dreams...

They sat that preggy ladies will have weird dreams during trimesters and boy, am I a firm believer! To date, I guess I have countless weird dreams, some so vague that I Knew I had a dream while some so deeply embedded in my mind that even when I woke up, I can relate the full story.

Let us talking about the dream two nights ago.
We were getting married again for the second time. Kind of Bizzare as we fekt we were married and that ceremony seem to be a renewal of wedding vows. I was always prepared for big events in my life like this but there I was standing in a plain off-cream short dress that looks like a bridesmaid dress than a wedding gown, hair was done but face make up and everything was just way off. I look ard at my galfrens who came to help us, they were all dressed to the nines with glam dresses and pant suits and i even ask C this.

Me: Do you have a suit?
C: I did.
Me: How come? I forgot to call Jazz Bridal for the stuff and I dun even look like a decent bride to walk down the aisle ( in almost panic tone and wana pikc up the phone and call for help)
C: (looking at me clueless and cldnt even bother to answer or offer help to calm down)

I didnt have proper jewellery to adorn the simple dress. I pick up the phone and call my daddy and these are the instructions I told him - "Daddy, go to my room, stand in front of the open wardrobe, on the left side, open the first drawer, get my diamond ring and whatever jewellery you can find. My daddy replied immediately - "Why didnt you pack everything there, you are super last minute and the items are expensive to carry ard, I am not bringing. Line dead.

Just as I was about to think of creative ways to work things ard( maybe I should pop a mentos then), the scene changed and I found myself wide awake lying on my bed. It's 3am in the morning and I guess I need the bathroom more than anything now....

Our Prune...

This is how Little One looks like in 11th week.
CRI: 4.2cm
if you look at the first picture, you see a faint print of the hand, it was then doing the elmo wave. =)

The Elmo Wave

I wanted to blog this on the day that we went for the second appointment but silly me didnt bring my lappie home and C's lappie does not have a XD card reader and I couldnt find my external connector for the camera. (Yes.. these are all excuses...)

In truth, this mom to be is pure lazy and super lazy. =)

Will not be long winded and will be telling the highlights of the second visit.
So looking forward to the scan and there we see Little One doing the Elmo Wave to us both.
You may be wondering if it was the way the roller ball machine moves over my tummy that may cause the elmo wave which C thinks it is the cause (damn logic!). This mummy to be choose to believe that it is Little One saying Hello to us. Sweet moment.

Oh yes - it was doing that hip hop bouncing action and Dr Tan told us it is swallowing fluids in the tummy so tend to bounce a little... heeee... cute...

Then we get to see the fingers/ knuckles, its body stetching and I was shocked that it grew double in length in just 2 more weeks. It is now 4.2cm now and Dr Tan says all is well but of course as a medical practioner, she also have to be honest and let me know I am not out of the so called danger zone yet. I am in my 11th week right now ( 2 more to go and 1st trimester will be over!)

Nevertheless, 2 more weeks and mummy can see you again and this time, we had to do some tests (oscar scan, blood tests) with docs and nurses in the clinic to make sure that all is well with you.

Like I always say to you, be strong for mummy and daddy!

Love ya lots!

Our Little Kidney Bean

Some pics of Little One
Today is a special day as it is the first time we both set eyes on our little kidney bean.

We had the first gynae appointment today at TMC with Dr WK Tan ( I swear I made the right choice by having her as the chosen one). well, the first appointment was indeed what they state in the books - checking up on family medical history, our family planning plan that was in place ( was it?), the results of the recent check up we both did.

It was a brand new experience for us both as we get to see little one for the first time ( at least for C, it is a testimonial that there is something in my tummy!!!) and also to prepare us for what is about to happen.

The take away - rest plenty, no strenuos exercises, no travel till we reached 12 weeks! Next appointment is 2 weeks from today and I am counting down.. I like to see how our little kidney bean grows to its next stage....
