San Ba San Ba (Three Eight Three Eight)

Exactly at my 38th weeks of preggy journey, the time seems to whisk by super slowly..... I just can't wait any longer. Tummy's getting bigger and the weight stucked on me is getting heavier as days go by. When is my little one coming out? I keep aksing myself that question.

Went for another apppointment yesterday afternoon and Dr Tan told me unlikley that Little One will be out this weekend. C and I both look forward partly bcos it is one month or so before the Chinese New Year ( cos this mummy here wana spend CNY officially =p.. yeah selfish thoughts) and 10 Jan 2010 ( 10.01.10) looks good. Hee, like the binary code that Electrical engineers used. Well well, I guess we let nature takes it own course and Dr Tan told me when it is time for him to come out, he will pop one. Don't worry!

Little one is weighing 3.29kg as of yesterday. Mummy here didn't put on much weight during the past 1 week but only a mere 100g. As usual, Dr Tan was fine but the clinic nurses were the one checking and checking with me - Did you wiegh again? Did you see the scale properly? (Yes, I did, Madam). =)

Well.. hopefully, my wish will come true this weekend if not, you guys will see another blog posting on my updates after next Monday's appointment on week 39! =p

Counting down from Week 37...

It is only 18 days away to the BIG Day! =)

I have been feeling up and down, anxious and scared and exhilarated at the same time.

Well, Little one now weights 3.136kg and Dr Tan says he is doing well. Everything is going smoothly for us both and she told me not to worry.

Her advice of the week: Just enjoy these last 2.5 weeks......;)

36 weeks and counting down....

I am well into my 36 weeks of pregnancy now. How time flies. =)

4 more weeks (hopefully little one listens to mommy and daddy to stay in my tummy till full 40 weeks) and we are all able to see him. I wonder how he looks like, who he takes after, all I know from the 5th month detailed scan - he had daddy's bee stung lips.

Little one now weighs 2.9kg and Dr Tan says that he is doing well. His head is positioned downwards towards the pelvic area but not in the engaged position of course. My check up is going to be on a weekly basis starting from next week. And at the last week, it will be a daily affair till the big day.

Well, watch out for this space and I'll try to keep everyone posted till that big day arrives!

The Elmo Wave

I wanted to blog this on the day that we went for the second appointment but silly me didnt bring my lappie home and C's lappie does not have a XD card reader and I couldnt find my external connector for the camera. (Yes.. these are all excuses...)

In truth, this mom to be is pure lazy and super lazy. =)

Will not be long winded and will be telling the highlights of the second visit.
So looking forward to the scan and there we see Little One doing the Elmo Wave to us both.
You may be wondering if it was the way the roller ball machine moves over my tummy that may cause the elmo wave which C thinks it is the cause (damn logic!). This mummy to be choose to believe that it is Little One saying Hello to us. Sweet moment.

Oh yes - it was doing that hip hop bouncing action and Dr Tan told us it is swallowing fluids in the tummy so tend to bounce a little... heeee... cute...

Then we get to see the fingers/ knuckles, its body stetching and I was shocked that it grew double in length in just 2 more weeks. It is now 4.2cm now and Dr Tan says all is well but of course as a medical practioner, she also have to be honest and let me know I am not out of the so called danger zone yet. I am in my 11th week right now ( 2 more to go and 1st trimester will be over!)

Nevertheless, 2 more weeks and mummy can see you again and this time, we had to do some tests (oscar scan, blood tests) with docs and nurses in the clinic to make sure that all is well with you.

Like I always say to you, be strong for mummy and daddy!

Love ya lots!

Best Birthday Gift Ever....

First and foremost, lets toast to my 31 years on planet earth!
Happy Birthday to me! (I'm actually looking forward to the day that Little One will be the one saying this to mummy's face this time next year! )

Okies.. I sound super crazy. That's what C had been telling me. Like my constant mumbling, chanting, giggles to the little one. He told me people who do not know would like I am insane. I believe in infant talk man! Come on, I even plan to get music Cds for Little one to play in the background lor! Let Little one move to the rhythmn.

Anyway... to the more important matters..
Went to the doc last night and no tests were done but Doc mentioned usually the HPT (home pregancy test kits) worked and they are accurate. Little one is 5 1/2 weeks as of yesterday. Doc mentioned to go and start to appoint the gynae we had in mind and made an appointment when Little One ventures into week 8. ( I am like documenting IN THE WOMB, Ha!). That's called the period of gestation.

Me: What's gestation?
Doc: Oh that is the period where the foetus becomes alive. Or in a way, the heart starts beating.
Me: On now it is just..?
Doc: Well, if u do an ultrasound now, you only see a mass of cells. Heart is forming but not beating. Week 6&7, heart forming, start to beat and together with other organs forming.
Me: (how cool!) - I didnt blurt it out. would make me sound like a bimbo mum to be
Doc: Just be careful, take care, do not do jogging, carry heavy stuff or things that make you perspire. Keep calm. (end with a smile)
Me: Thanks

So that's the main highlight of the visit to the GP. I am looking forward to that FIRST appointment with the chosen one. Updates again... and I like to say - This is the best bithday gift ever!
